Kate has 25 years experience in charities, grant making and corporate foundations and now has a portfolio career, combining interim executive leadership, strategic consulting and non-executive roles. Kate was the first Head of Newcastle United Foundation for over a decade, leading the organisation from start-up to award-winning charity. Kate has also recently held the role of Interim Executive Director at Virgin Money Foundation. Kate is also Trustee of the Greggs Foundation and chair of their Grants Committee. Kate is a volunteer with Speakers for Schools.

As part of her role as an independent Trustee for the Foundation, Kate is wanting to use her expertise in grant making to help create resilient and thriving communities and to capture and share learnings by funding a range of unique and exciting projects.
